STUDENTS

Study experience at NU SEDS is not only about classes. It is full of fun, joy and creativity. Cultural events, sport and outdoor activities, contests, family events. There are about 80 student clubs at the University where you can get involved, make new friends, have fun and be part of the student community. The clubs vary from politics and debate, to comedy, musical theatre and everything in between. You will have enormous variety of opportunities to be involved into sports, volunteering, toast masters, language learning etc. And of course there are the societies which are specialized on the majors of the Schools.

 IEEE is the world's largest technical society with more than 420,000 members worldwide. IEEE's core purpose is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. On June 24th 2017, the IEEE Kazakhstan, Subsection was formally approved by IEEE MGA Board. This is the only subsection approved for Kazakhstan. And IEEE Nazarbayev University is the student branch, which do provide student experience in electrical engineering through research and industry opportunities. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)provides a worldwide forum for Oil and Natural Gas exploration and production. More than 110,000 members in more than 141 countries. Vision of NU SPE is to be an excellent performing society that provides its members the highest quality lifelong knowledge of oil and gas industry, and stimulates continuous personal and professional development.  Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) focuses on helping students to develop and strengthen academic and professional skills. The student chapter works as a link between the student body of NU and the worldwide professional association of engineers – the IET. IET is a world leading professional organization sharing and advancing knowledge to promote science, engineering and technology across the world.

 

 

 Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) is one of the fastest growing professional engineering institutions. Headquartered in London, but with operations around the world, the Institution has over 100,000 members in more than 140 countries, working at the heart of the most important and dynamic industries. This organization united students not only from engineering school, but also from other disciplines. The main aim of the chapter is to provide its members with practical skills for future personal and career development by means of real projects, e.g. Smart Moto competition.

 

 

 Institution of Civil Engineers Student Chapter (ICE) is an international membership organisation that promotes and advances civil engineering around the world. ICE is a qualifying body, a centre for the exchange of specialist knowledge, and a provider of resources to encourage innovation and excellence in the profession worldwide. This student chapter serves as a link to the ICE, and aims at building an advanced society of civil engineering students at NU to support and facilitate their academic, social and professional development.
 AIChE is the world’s leading organization for chemical engineering professionals, with more than 50,000 members from over 100 countries.
