NU SEDS professors meet the CNPC delegation
On May 1, 2023, a 23-member delegation from the China National Petroleum Company visited Nazarbayev University to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) proposed by Chinese President Mr. Jinping Xi.
Professors Nurxat Nuraje and Yanwei Wang from SEDS and Manat Mustafa from SSH welcomed the visitors and provided a campus tour. Prof.
Wang introduced the delegation to the Senate Hall, where he retrospected the historical event when President Xi proposed to join hands in building a new silk road—the Silk Road Economic Belt;—at the university Senate Hall. The delegation expressed gratitude to Nazarbayev University’s top management, including the President, Provost, and other leaders, for supporting the event. They also conveyed their interest in
exploring potential collaborations with the university in the future.
