Vice-Dean for Research, Professor Zhumabay Bakenov received the «Best Researcher 2021» award from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This award is aimed at supporting and encouraging scientists who have made a significant contribution to the development of science and technology.⠀

Professor Zhumabay Bakenov shared his impressions and plans for the future with us:⠀

«This achievement is due to hard work and support of NU, my Research Group members, and the best infrastructure created by our Provost Adesida. We need strong support from our Government and the President of Kazakhstan to develop further and make NU a strong and sustainable international center of excellence.⠀
My plan is to work at NU and contribute to education and science. Our Battery Group plan is to work further on advanced energy materials and designing the best battery from energy, ecology and safety points of view. Running the Battery Group is to train and educate more excellent researchers and educators, collaborate with local and international universities and companies».⠀
