New Student Orientation is back: Over 700 new students admitted to NU SEDS
Nazarbayev University once again hosted New Student Orientation Week for the first time in two years. The traditional New Student Orientation Week began this year on August 8 and ran until August 12.
NU Orientation Week is a period at the beginning of the academic year during which various activities are carried out to orient and integrate first-year students into the university’s educational environment. The week’s program was rich and varied, including a morning fitness session and socio-cultural activities. These activities included tours to NU SEDS laboratories and the university library, intellectual battles, sports competitions, and concert programs. As part of orientation week, valuable information sessions were held for students where NU SEDS representatives explained the school’s policies and department representatives presented their Introductions to majors. Also, during the orientation week, students learned how projects are created in the NURIS FABLAB office. For the convenience of students, was held a fair of all departments of Nazarbayev university where they could ask questions about their studies and the opportunities that the university provides them.
This year 776 new students have been admitted to NU SEDS. Of that number, 567 enrolled in undergraduate programs, 201 in graduate programs, and 27 in doctoral programs. The number of international students admitted to NU SEDS was 39.
The new NU students began their university careers on August 15. We warmly congratulate all members of the NU SEDS community, including new students, on the start of the new academic year. We wish newcomers success in the academic year! Dear new students, may your years at NU SEDS be the brightest of your lives!
