Professor Mehdi Bagheri and students designed smart meters for semi-intelligent building

Turn off the forgotten iron, increase the heating in the apartment, put a kettle - all this can be done from your smartphone, staying, for example, in the office. Mehdi Bagheri, Assistant Professor of the School of Engineering, and his students have developed a special mobile application for this.
The product has 3 versions, the latest of which is able to control home appliances on distance.
The project is targeted at the design and implementation of smart meters and its main objective is a smart meter prototype. Smart meters are the latest generation of digital meters that communicate energy usage information using a telecommunication network to a utility company. This project presents a new generation of smart meters, with the following features present:
- Wave harmonics detection and elimination.
- Anti-theft.
- Remote access to information using Cloud system.
- Real-time information.
- Dynamic tariff support.

According to the professor, in 2019 the project will be fully completed. Many construction companies are already interested in purchasing the technology, as digitization of the housing and utilities infrastructure of Kazakhstan is one of the priority areas for development.
